The first country that has made a brave move, to ban the manufacture of animal fur, is California. This rule will be applied after 2023 when fur will not be produced anymore, and also the merchants will not be able to sell it. Any clothes, shoes, bags, etc. will disappear from the market because the penalties will be very high.

The governor of California, Gavin Newsom, declared that they, as a country, support animal welfare. As a result of the new law, besides the fact that they banned the production of fur, they also have forbidden the use of most animals performing in circuses.

‘’ But we are doing more than that. We are making a statement to the world that beautiful wild animals like bears and tigers have no place on trapeze wires or jumping through flames.’’

This move is for applause, and most of the associations, especially the ones for rescuing animals, supported the governor.

Tracy Reiman, who is the vice-president of PETA, marked that day as historic. For them, that day was for celebration. From that day and further on, they will use the laws of California as a leading example, how the countries should rule, and protect nature.

On the other hand, we have businessmen who deal with fur production; these news are a disaster for them. They claim that fake fur is not even a close replacement of the real one, and most of them tried to change the law but did not succeed.

Along with the ban of fur, they have banned the leather or cowhides, the full skin of deer, sheep, or goats.

This law is already accepted by the highest names in the fashion industry. Gucci, Versace, Prada, etc. already stopped the usage of fur in their fashion designs, and promote the fur ban law.
