What most people don’t know is that Mother Nature has already many remedies in her store for us that will keep our skin tight and young looking. Dry skin, aging spots, fine lines, all these signs of aging skin can be addressed with these simple home remedies.

1. Reduce age spots with lemon juice

Lemons are rich in vitamin C. It is s a strong antioxidant and has a bleaching action that works miracles on age spots and freckles. Combine one ounce of lemon juice with one pint of rose water. For an extra astringent action, you may add a half ounce of powdered alum. Bottle the liquid and shake well before using. This lotion is also effective against freckles and blemishes. For even better results, combine one teaspoon of lemon juice with a half teaspoon of milk cream and one teaspoon of egg white. Mix well all these ingredients and apply to the face; after 15 minutes, rinse with cold water.

A very effective remedy for aging skin is the combination of lemon juice and honey. This treatment combines the antioxidant action of vitamin C and the soothing action of honey. Mix one teaspoon of lemon juice and one teaspoon of honey and lightly rub it on your skin. Keep for 20 minutes and then wash with warm water.

2. Papaya mask for skin firmness

The papaya fruit is good for the eyes because of the substantial content of vitamin A. This also guarantees that papaya has a strong antioxidant action which makes it good for your skin, too. Besides that, it contains the enzyme called papain which helps to remove dead skin, leaving your skin baby-soft and clean. To prepare a papaya mask, cut a few pieces of an entirely ripe papaya fruit and mash into a smooth paste. Apply it on the face and after 15 minutes, wash away with warm water.

Cucumber helps to reduce the puffiness and dark circles under the eyes, and it has a soothing action that keeps skin healthy. Curd contains lactic acid which has the property of exfoliating the dead skin cells, keeping it fresh and rejuvenated. Take half cup of curd and mix it with two teaspoons of grated cucumber. Apply this mask to your face and rinse it after 20 minutes. Using this face mask about twice a week for a few months will help keep your skin healthy and young.

Cucumber juice can also help as a pore refiner. Extract the juice of a fresh cucumber. Bring it to boiling point. Skim the liquid and bottle it. Mix one teaspoon of the juice with two teaspoons of pure water. Apply to your face in the morning and night and let it dry.

4. Rose water lotions and masks to tighten skin

Rose water is a natural cleaning product and can help remove the dirt clogging the skin pores. It is also a powerful astringent which give firmness, tightens the skin, and reduces the puffiness under the eyes.

Every night before you go to bed apply this lotion with a cotton ball to your face: mix two teaspoons of rose water with half a teaspoon of lemon juice and three drops of glycerin. Your face will be fresh and healthy the next morning. You can also make a face mask by adding one teaspoon of rose water, curd, and honey. Add this mixture into a mashed ripe banana; apply the pack to your face and neck and after 20 minutes, wash it with lukewarm water.

Rose water is an excellent soothing remedy for a chapped skin on our hands. Mix half an ounce of rose water, a quarter ounce of witch hazel extract, and add another half ounce of glycerin. Bottle this mixture and each time you wash and dry your hands, massage this solution into your hands.

5. Coconut milk moisturizer

Coconut is a rich in vitamins and minerals. It moisturizes your skin and keeps it soft, subtle and radiantly young. For this remedy, you should grate raw coconut and squeeze the milk out of it. Apply this coconut milk onto your face and neck; let it stay for about 20 minutes and then rinse it out with warm water.
