Have you ever heard of golden milk? This beverage has gained quite a popularity over the past few years, and for an excellent reason. Some people choose to end their day with a warm cup of golden milk, while others enjoy it in the morning as the perfect swap for coffee.
For those who are not familiar with this drink, it is worth mentioning that it is not milk at all, meaning not in the dairy sense. It is made up of coconut milk and turmeric spice as an essential ingredient. Some variations of the recipe even call for coconut oil.
Turmeric has been long used and appreciated for its medicinal properties, but in the U.S people still rarely consume it. Golden milk is the best way to change this, as each cup of this soothing beverage yields a dose of this “spice of life.”

Turmeric Has Over 150 Potentially Therapeutic Activities
Turmeric offers countless benefits, which is one of the reasons why people in India refer to it as the “spice of life.” Both Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine used this golden spice to treat skin problems, sprained muscles, joint pain, wound healing, liver disease, and respiratory ailments.
