As it offers a lot of health benefits, Moringa Oleifera, despite being popular in the holistic medicine of many South East Asian countries, is now becoming famous all over the entire world.

Every single part of the plant, starting from the roots ending to the fruits, is consumable and packed with nutrients and antioxidants. Here are the advantages of eating this plant, all of which are now backed by science.

1. Moringa is stuffed with nutrients.

With only eating several handfuls of the leaves of the plant, you can supply yourself with proteins, vitamins A, B, and C, as well as with iron, riboflavin, and magnesium.

4. Moringa prevents oxidative stress.

Oxidants in our body can cause a chemical reaction which is called oxidation and which produced free radicals. This can cause huge damage to the cells. The leaves of the Moringa plant are full of antioxidants which can prevent this from occurring. Consuming an extract from the leaves of the plant or even taking it in powder form can increase the levels of antioxidants in our blood.

5. Moringa reduces the risk of diabetes and high levels of cholesterol.

A lot of different studies showed that the isothiocyanates in the leaves of Moringa could reduce the level of blood sugar in the body. In that way, Moringa minimizes the risk of getting diabetes and all of its complications. Consuming Moringa can also reduce the levels of cholesterol in the body, as well as consequently bring down the chances of suffering from cardiac issues.

6. Moringa has anti-inflammatory benefits.

While it is a defensive measure against infection, inflammation can cause a lot of problems such as an increase in blood sugar levels, cardiac issues, and unhealthy weight gain. From some researches made on animals, experts discovered that the leaves of Moringa could importantly decrease inflammation as it suppresses inflammation-causing substances within the body.

7. Moringa improves the function of our brain.

Having all those nutritive benefits, this plant prevents oxidative stress from causing degenerative diseases in the nervous system. It stabilizes the production of different important hormones such as dopamine and noradrenaline. Studies have also proved it useful for treating patients that have Alzheimer’s.

You can consume this plant in different ways. For instance, you can blitz it into healthy shakes in powder form or use it like tea. However, take it in moderation, or it can cause indigestion.
